Let's Catch Up!

Wow... it has been ages. Let's see if I can't get you up to speed. Not very long after my last post I got into a car boo-boo. The claim is still pending but the gist is that I T-boned a girl as she attempted to turn left across my lane of travel :( No one was hurt. Donald (my car) was totaled.
He had a bumper when I dropped him at the shop. I had just paid him off too - hadn't even been a month. I know, I know, even the insurance lady said that was the kiss of death for Donald. Sigh So, I went car shopping. Eron was so patient and I still came back in tears... No one should be surprised - let us not forget the tears that were shed over the purchase of Donald. Ugh. Seriously, big thanks to Dad and Jackie for helping me with that!

So, after my tearful escapade Eron kindly reminded me that his buddy, Ross, had a perfectly good car in yard that he's spent time fixing up. A 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo. I was skeptical... It would be a downgrade but then he began tick off the selling points:
- Cruise control -- didn't have this on the sunfire
- Power Windows -- didn't have this either
- Sunroof
- Power locks -- kinda
- New tires
- Tune up w/ oil change
- Coolant flush
- Mechanic services for the lifetime of the car
- Cup holders -- 740's typically don't have cup holders
- Blue
And this is how I came to purchase my baby:
Her official name: Grålmarke (Bruiser)

I have a bruise on the back of my thigh from sliding in and out over the seat belt. But... she's awesome. She needs a little bit of love and I'm still trying to figure out all her quirks but she gets me from point A to point B. There is a list of things that I'd like to do to get her back in better shape but all of that will take a little bit of time and money.

Okay, enough about my car... I turned 28 somewhere in the middle of the car debacle. Got an amazingly thoughtful and cool gift from Eron - enter shameless plug - you can check it out here at my other blog while you follow my lame attempts at training for a 10k. I will get there! I just need to be a little smarter about it :)

Chloe is giving me a little heartache. She exhibiting "self mutilating" behavior and nomming the tip of her tail. Baffling the vet in the process - not that she's never seen a cat exhibit this kind of behavior its just that Chloe seems to be doing this in a half hearted attempt - not drawing blood just irritating the skin but only a little. She's my little weirdo. The vet mentioned that some times cats just hate their tails and have to snip it off until the cat is satisfied - super.

Seriously, my life is pretty boring these days. Until next time :)
